Inc 2 sts to cable sts and work these 8 sts in St st with white, keeping beige sts in rev St st, dec 1 st every 6th row 7(7/8) times, working beige sts tog before 8 white sts. At the same time, when front measures 41(42/43) cm — 16'4(16%/17) in, on rows beg at left edge, cast off 2(373) sts once, 2 sts once, dec [ st 1(1/2) times. When front measures 27(28/29) cm — 1OA(I/11%) in from beg of armhole, shape shoulder. On rows beg at left edge, cast off 8(9/9) sts and cont on rem 8 sts until border reaches centre of back neck. Place sts on holder and work left side the same, rev shaping and using brown for cable. Sleeves: With smaller size needles and Cabaret, cast on 38(40/42) sts and work 10 cm — (4 in) in K1 P! rib. Change to larger size needles and beige. Work first row in St st (right side of work) and continue in rev ST st. Inc 1 st at each edge every 5 cm — (2 in) 5 times. You now have 48(50/52) sts. When sleeve measures 40 cm — (15% in), shape sleeve top. Cast off 2(3/3) sts at beg of next 2 rows, cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, dec 1 st at beg of next 2(2/4) rows. Con- tinue on rem 38 sts until sleeve top measures 15(16/17) cm — 6(6%4/ 6%) in. Dec 1 st at beg of next 10 rows. Cast off rem 28 sts all at once. Finishing: Sew shoulder, side and sleeve seams. Slipstitch back neck border sts tog. Sew outside edge of border to neck edge. let border roll towards inside and attach border to fronts and back. Neck inset: Us- ing smaller size meedies and Cabaret, cast on 3 sts. Work in KI P1 rib. Inc 1 st on each edge of every 3rd row until you have 61 sts. Cast off. Sew piece to wrong side cf Front. Set in sleeves so that 1 pleat is formed on either side of shoulder seam.
