12 - Sunday, December 7, 1986 - North Shore News inquiring reporter Stephen Barrington WHEN NORTH Vancouver jeweller John Ware lost a bag containing $50,000 of gold, sapphires. diamonds and other jewelry, he assumed the goods were gone forever. But Michael Duplissie, 29, called Ware tu tell bim he had found the lost jewels near Fourth Street and St. Andrews, where they had fallen off the roof of Ware's car. The 28-year-old Ware had placed the bag on the roof of his car and drove off, leaving the bag containing his life sav- ings and some valuable uninsured customer property at the mercy of the finder. Duplissie tracked down the jeweller through a newspaper ad and returned the loot because “I’m oan honest guy.” This week, Inquiring Reporter wants to know what people would have done had they been the ones to find the $50,000 bag of poodies.
