POLICE CAR HIT ; Collision brings end to high-speed chase NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP wound up with a dented car early Friday mor- ning but they got their man. The denting was the result of a collision between an RCMP cruiser and a stolen Camaro that had been chas- ed from Vancouver into North Vancouver. it all started at the south end of Lions Gate Bridge where the driver of the stolen car spotted a Vancouver City Police drinking driving road block and sped through it. Two Vancouver police, mounted on motorcycles, chased the driver over the bridge and into North Van- couver where waiting RCMP cars took over the pursuit. The Camaro ted police along Marine Drive at speeds of over 100 kilometres an hour, the driver pulling over on several occasions and then speeding off again when the RCMP pulled in behind him. Finally, in the area of Third and Mahon, the driver again pulled over and slowed. The police cruiser swung in front of the car and blocked it when the suspect again at- tempted to flee.
