+ Plane used to fight forest fire In area above Horseshoe Bay By PAT RICH A water bomber was called in Wednesday afternoon to help deal with a three-acre forest fire that raged through an area near Horseshoe Bay in West Van- couver. And although the early Thursday morning storm helped douse the flames, West Vancouver fire fighters were still involved in putting out spot fires in the area the following afternoon. A West Vancouver Fire Deparment spokesman said they received the first report of the fire just after noon Wednesday. He said that when fire fighters arrived at the area between Horseshoe Bay and Nelson Creek, the fire was “fully involved.” The fire, whose cause is impossible to determine, started under hydro poles in the area and spread to the nearby forested area. “It was what we consider a forest fire,” the spokesman sald. “We were afraid it was Boing to go into the waterboard area,” he said.
