. MUSIC READING WORKSHOP gets down to work. Attendance exceeded all ex-

pectations.

Almost 80 hopeful, if
slightly apprehensive musi-
cians arrived at the recent
“reading workshop” for
choir and orchestra, amaz-
ing and delighting the North
Shore Chamber Music
Society organizers. The
unexpectedly high turnout
made the workshop = an
outstanding event, a day to
be recorded in the annals of
our community cultural life.

The singers and players
were drawn from all over the
North Shore. They ranged
from thirteen to sixty years
— as diverse a group as one

did deserve an audience.

As people packed up to go
home the only question be-
ing asked was: “When will
this happen again?” The
Chamber Music Society will
certainly see that it does
happen again, possibly in
April 1981. With such an in-
credible reservoir of talent it
should become a _ regular
community “happening”.
