Education has added a new
approach to adult computer
learning: participants literally
learn to cruise cyberspace
aboard a cruise ship bound
for Alaska.

Adults often complain
about being too busy or
pressured by their regular
routines to learn essential
skills that will allow them
more recreational and family
time.

“Often the best environ-
ment for learning is away
from the office and without
the many distractions from
constant phone calls and
bombardment of ¢-mail,”
said Fleischer.

The course, Novice to
Nerd - Cruising to Skagway,
is offered as a six-hour intro-
duction course from basic
Windows skills to cruising
the Internet. In conjunction
with North Shore
Continuing Education, the
course will be organized by
certified cruise counsellor
and family physician, Dr.
Martin Gerretsen. He is
president of Sea Courses Inc.
