“A WET man faces nature's flooding fury on Ranger Avenue in Upper Capilano Thursday afternoon. Neighborhood yards were buried under wood debris, rocks and
mud from rushing flood waters. Overloaded culverts also caused flooding in other areas, including Deep Cove, Woodlands and Upper Lynn Valley.

hardest hit by downpour

NORTH SHORE residents mopped up Friday morning

after heavy rainfall Thursday washed logs, stones and

mud into yards and left many basements flooded.

‘The rainstorm, which dumped 24.5 millimetres (one inch) of rain
in a three-hour period on already saturated ground, caused wide-
spread damage throughout North and West Vancouver.

Final damage estimates have yet to be compiled. ;

Homes in West Vancouver, Woodhinds, Deep Cove aud Upper
Lynn Valley in Nonh Vancouver. were hit by flooding, The brunt of
the damage oceurred in the Upper Capiline area of Nort Vancouver
District, Where 25 hameowners have reported damaue.

Ranger Avenue, Malaspina Place and Skyline Drive. cast of
Capihaio Roads were hit bard. .
