The North Shore branch of the Registered Music Teachers’ Association (NSRMTA) presented $1,000 in awards Dec. 14 during a scholarship recital at St. Andrews Church in North Vancouver. The association established the award pro- gram in "95 to encourage excellence in music study. Awards are given to stu- dents of voice, piano and string instruments who receive top marks in Rovat Conservatory, Western Board and Victoria Conservatory exams, One award is present- ed for each grade level. This year’s award winners are Hanna Rebane (Introductory), Andrew Pickering (Grade 1), Keira Gordon and Andy Hsu (Grade 2), Christopher Koo (Grade 3), Jaciey Liu (Grade 4), Willard Wong (Grade 5), Jason Tjoei (Grade 6}, Michelle Hui (Grade 7), Gabriel Wong (Grade 8), Christopher Chok (Grade 9) and Lydia Pak (Grade 10).
