Van mayor limits public question period IN A move to end the abuse of West Vancouver District Council’s provisions for open government, Mayor Don Lanskail recently an- nounced changes to limit the public question period at the beginning of every meeting to 15 minutes. But the abuse of this process has led to “‘gross interference with the conduct of municipal business by council,’’ Lanskail charged. In addition to the 15-minute limit, Lanskail said there will now be a two-minute time limit in which to frame the question being put to council. ‘*Much of the abuse stems from using the question period as a forum for making a speech to council, often in a very uncivilized manner,’ the mayer noted. Anyone wishing to address council on a municipal issue may apply to the municipal clerk, to be placed on a future meeting agenda. “Any question or comment with regard to items of correspondence | Get your lawn in shape! | i Buy ED a 2 je and 20 KG Bag of 20 KG Bags ‘om Green Valley Dolomite Lime Boost Moss Killer | T'S TIME TO PLANT L.
