Northlands putting greens to be pushed

THE NORTH Shore Public Golf Course Su-iety (NSPGCS)
will be pitching putting greens before North Vancouver

District Council Monday.

A group delegation ~ill be pres-
enting its latest propcsal to devel-
op a scaled-down, '8-hole public
golf course on 91 acres of land in
the Northlands area.

A consultant’s report to the
district. assessing an earlier
NSPGCS 125-ucre proposal shows
that such a recreational develop-
ment would take $32 million out of
the district’s land bank and put

pressure on the district to put more
housing elsewhere.

But according to NSPGCS
chairman Don Davis, the group's
new plan shows the district would
forfeit $12 million worth of resi-
dential development if a 9l-acre

sial inter-river area) is considered
in the report. One golf course con-
figuration discussed envisions
“one very good quality” 36-hole
