Catholic church
design approved

THE DESIGN of a new Catholic
church to be situated on Keith
Road in West Vancouver was ap-
proved by West Vancouver District
Council at Monday’s meeting.

Father Peter Mallon of St. An-
thony’s parish hopes that work on
the parking lot can begin this fall,
with construction of the new
buildings, including a church and
rectory, to start in the fall as well.

But first, a building permit must
be obtained.

The new church will be built
next to the existing Catholic
schoo}, and will allow the masses
to be split between the new and the
old facilities.

Approval of the design by the
Advisory Design Panel was ‘‘reluc-
tant’’ because of the size of the
parking lot.

But plenty of parking had been
requested by council as a result of . f
