Although the two themes
originated independently,
and have maintained indi-
vidual identities, the link be-
tween them is as obvious as
the link between customer
and business,

The marketplace is a
two-way street; a coming
togecher of both buyer and
seller, Without customers to
purchase goods and services,
businesses would have no
reason for being. Without
businesses to supply neces-
sary goods or services, con-
sumers would have no
source of supply to-satisfy
their wants and needs.

So far, the impact of
Consumer Week and Small
Business Week has been
minimal, if not short-lived.
However, momentum is
growing as more and more
businesses realize that in
order to. ensure continued
success, customers must. be
encouraged to return again.
