MERCHANTS AT Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver
are watching with a mixture on interest and trepidation as
the Sunday shopping picture unfolds across the Lower
Mainland. Two particular issues under the scrutiny of
mall managers and store owners are the success of the
Christmas season in those malls which have opened Sun-
days and what will happen when 1985 dawns. A further
recent development catching their interest is the situation
in two Fraser Valley municipalities where some merchants
will be opening up today in violationof local bylaws.
Voters in West Vancouver narrowly defeated a Sunday
shopping referendum a month and a half ago.
