WViethanol tank leaks

A LEAK at Vancouver Wharves
Monday resulted in up to 363 litres
(80 gallons) of methanol being
dumped into Burrard Inlet, said
North Vancouver District Fire
Services.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer
Brian Stegavig said determining the
amount of the flammable material
involved in the leak is difficult

because no one knew how much
methanol was in the tank that
leaked.

That tank has a capacity of 363
litres, Stegavig said.

No charges are pending against
the company, he said. noting the
company's good track record. The
incident is under investigation by
the company.
