When new Li owner K. Wing Jung took over the restaurant in December 1986, he decided Lower Lonsdale Chinese food fans were ready for more flair and culinary adventure with their usual diet of army-issue Chinese food, which is a popular second and third-course follow-up to traditional draft-beer aperitif. He consequently added a touch of Szechuan and southern Canton- ese spice and snap to the Li’s repu- lar Cantonese selection.
