* the five executives, Laughlin and Stevens, continue to work “on a transi-
tion basis” fur che health region.

bur declined to do so.
“There is no longer a role for them in the organization,” said Adams.
Adams said the former vice-presidents were unsuccesstul in obtaining
avo new vice-president jobs,
The successful candidates come from health care jabs in Alberta.
David Handlev is now vice-president of corporate services and Ellen
Pekeles is vice-president of programs in the health region. Handley started
on Sept. 20 and Pekeles started on Monday.
Adan said the health region went through a public, national search to
fill the two jobs.
Adams said severance packages were still being work out for the former
vice-presidents.
“Yes there is a cost to the system for making chis change,” said Adams.
He said that in 18 months, the costs will be absorbed because the
health repion is paying two vice-president salaries instead of five.

According to North Shore Health Board's schedule of enployee carn-

Haig earned $112,767.04 with expenses of $259.80;
§% Laughlin carned $98,514.82;
@ Finnic carned $68,577.27 with $184.48 expenses;
Baxter was not listed;
Adams said the new vice-presidents will carn between $95,000 to .
