afield to find a durable restaurant
tenant.

Satinder Jaswal opened Valen-
tino’s on Oct. 15 following the
abrupt closure of Cilantro’s, the
building’s previous restaurant oc-
cupant.

Cilantro’s, with its jet black inte-
rior and after-hours hot jazz
theme, was in striking contrast to
the cool green seafood theme of
its West Vancouver Seafood and
Grill predecessor.

It opened in March, serving an
interesting array of dishes fash-
ioned on the bright and fresh
Pacific Northwest cuisine philoso-
phy pioneered by Vancouver's
