It was a glorious sunny day, the kind of day one would want to mark the day of his new beginning. Elisabeth passed away at St. Paul's Hospital after a brief ilfness. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Angela and John Kurt, her daughter-in- law Clare and her much loved grand- daughter Margaret Elisabeth. Also sur- vived by a sistel, brother and numerous cousins in Germany. Dearly loved and greatly missed, she should have been with us for much longer. WILSON - Florence Beatrice passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on May 27, 1993. Born on june 18, 190) in Vancouver, Widowed in 1936, Florence raised her ‘family single handedly. She trained as a practical nurse and held the honour of being licensed practical nurse #1 in British Columbia in recognition for her many years of determined lobbying to have the “government for license the practical nurses, She was a member of the Cana- dian Daughters and Eastern Star, a life- time member of the West Vancouver Historical Society and a member of St. Francis-in-the-Weod Anglican Church for over sixty years. After retirement she travelled extensively throughout the world. She drove her own cat until age 90. She was an avid reader, a orolific corespondent and a devoted mother, grandmother and greal-grandmather. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1936; son Warrant Offices Robert G. Wilson, RCAF, in 1944; her brothers Bill and Fred, and sisters Hazel. Alice and Rosie. She is survived by sad- dened family members, sans William (Joan), David (Georgie), Stanley (Jean); daughter Janet Edens (Pete); 11 grand- children; 19 great-grandchildsen; numernus relatives here, in England and Australia; as well as many, many friends. Her ebbing weeks of life at Lions Gate Hospital passed comfortably and without pain due to the ministrations of the car- ing staff, particularly the practical nurses on 7-West and Dr. J.M. Anderson. Following cremation, a memorial service for Florence will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 10 at St. Francis-in- the-Wood Anglican Church, Caulfeild, West Vancouver, followed by a teception in the Church Hall. After graduating from Netson Business College, Jean wotked aS a secretary in Cranbrook, Nelson and Trail until 1940 when she matried Jake Wyllie. In 1948 she joined the Bank of Montreal in Castlegar, transferring to the Georgia and Thutlow Branch, Vancouver in 1964. In 1983 she joined InfoService at head office uatil her retirement in 1985. She continued to work part-time and sewed as a member o! the Board of Directors, ot the Bank of Montreal Employees Chari- ties Fund, until shortly before her death. She truly valued the many friends she made during her years with the Bank of Montreal. Jean has been a member of the West Vancouver Tennis Club for the past 29 years, capturing the West Kootenay Ladies Singles tennis title on five occa- sions, Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Richard Ucinski of Atlanta, Georgia, and her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sandra Wyllie af Robson, 8.C. Also surviving are her grandchildren Elsa, Sam and Roman of Robson and Tanya Larson of Dunedin, New Zealand. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Ada Ballard of Calgary, Alberta and her nephew Brian Ballard of North Van- couver, B.C. Jean will be especially missed by her tive friend and niece, Doreen Marbry and her husband Gordon of North Vancouver. A memorial service will be held at the West Vancouver United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C. at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 1993.
