Shore club recruiting juniors CRICKET ANYONE? The North Shore Cricket Club, celebrating its 70th anniversary, is looking for recruits to join its ranks. The club is especially interested in drawing in new junior players to its program in time for this seascn. The club has evolved from its start in 1921 with 15 members playing out of Boulevard Park to where it now boasts four teams with approximately 100 active and social members. Magnussen honored by Sport BC. NORTH VANCOUVER former figure skater Karen Magnussen was named the Sport B.C. Athlete of the Quarter Century at Sport B.C."s awards banquet held March 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. In a survey conducted by Save-On-Foods and the Province, the public chose Magnussen, who won the world title in 1973, over a Star-studded cast of candidates such as track athlete Harry Jerome, skier Nancy Greene, skier Gerry Sorenson, swimmer Elaine Tanner, high jumper Debbie Brill, and runner Lynn Williams. Diver Paige Gordon and golfer Greg Trammell, both of West Vancouver, were nominated for the junior athlete of the year which was eventually won by sprinter Camille Noel of Rich- mond.
