WEST VANCOUVER-Capilano
MP and Associate Minister of Na-
tional Defence Mary Collins and
Supply and Services Minister Paul
Dick will be the key speakers at
the 29th annuai general meeting of
the Aerospace Industries Associa-
tion of Canada, to be held this
week in Whistler.

The theme for this year’s
meeting is Canadian Aerospace:
The Human Dynamic.

The key to continued aerospace
success in the 1990's and beyond
will be dependent on a blend of
research and development, high
technology, innovation, interna-
tional competitiveness and human
resources,

As the areospace industry ap-
proaches the turn of the cen-
tury, it believes it is time to focus
on the industry’s most valuable
assets: people.

The Whistler meeting will focus
on various human resource fac-
tors, such as demographic trends,
educational and technical training
programs and changes in the at-
titudes and expectations of the
current and future work force.

FOR THE second consecutive

are on the rise, according to
newly-released 1990-91 figures
from Contacts Target Marketing
Inc.

The Contacts data base now
publishes a total of 47,308 Lower
Mainland firms in its annual
business directory.

An additional 3,720 companies
were added to last year’s 43,588
firms, representing an 8.5 per cent
growth factor.

“It is encouraging to know we
are experiencing an increase in
overall businesses when recession
rumors tend to be the business
banter lately,’’ said Contacts
president Isabelle Parker.

THE UNIVERSITY of B.C.'s
Executive Programmes will host
the Aggressive Pricing for Profit
and Growth seminar on Nov. 30,
1990 and Feb. 12, 1991.

The seminar will focus on un-
derstanding the relationships be-
tween pricing, strategy and prof-
itability. It will also examine the
roles of management, customers
and competition in formulating
pricing strategy and to apply those
concepts to specific pricing deci-
sions.

The seminar is geared towards
marketing and sales managers, fi-
nancing and accounting managers
