Vancouver Wharves upgrades motors

VANCOUVER WHARVES Ltd.
has gone ‘power smart’ by
upgrading electric motors at its
bulk-loading terminal in North
Vancouver.

And B.C. Hydro has given the
company a $6,356 rebate as an in-
centive for the installation of
high-efficiency electric motors that
have a combined total of 65¢

Dog mine in Alaska. Vancouver
Wharves is currently one year into
the 20-year Red Dog project.

The contract calls for Vancouver
Wharves to ship ore from the Red
Dog mine to its North Vancouver
facilitv and then transport the ore

“These motors will be in service
for between 15 and 20 years, so
