PRICE WV PR PRESENTATION Learn about rainforest } THE WORLDWIDE Home En- vironmentalists’ Network (WHEN) invites youths and adults to join Jeff Gibbs at West Vancouver Secondary School this Thursday evening for a slide presentation on the Amazon Rainforest and the Carmanah. Environmental Youth AlHance. WHEN, a non-profit en- vironmental group, will offer printed information, including its festive list of ‘“‘gifts for a living planet,’ presented by Andrea Mitler. Tickets at the door are $2. Organic juice will be available, but participants are asked to bring their own mug. The secondary school is located Gibbs, a 22-year-old UBC stu- dent, travelled to the rainforest with a group of environmentalists that included Tara Cullis and her husband Dr. David Suzuki. Gibbs will also be encouraging students to join his newly formed Xmas event heid JOIN THE North Shore Alliance Church women when they present their second annual Cld Fashioned Country Christmas. The event will be held on Tues- day, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the church, 20: E. 23rd St., North Vancouver, and will feature a variety of craft displays and demonstrations. Keynote speaker is Ghitta Le- jeune, a former model and design- er with Paris couture houses like Coco Chanel, J. Heim and Dior, At present, Lejeune has an active career as an interior designer and consultant and also as a manufac- turer and designer of her own one-of-a-kind fashion accessory line. In addition, she is committed to Christianity, her family and foster chiidren. The evening will also feature a special music presentation. Refreshments wil! be served. Tickets are available at the church ai a cost of $4 per person.
