oor _ provide education BOARD APPOINTMENT NORTH VANCOUVER resident Peter Prepchuk, a manager of the employee suggestion program at the Insurance Corporation of B.C. (ICBC) in North Vancouver, has been named a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Suggestion Systems (NASS). Prepchuk, who played a major role in the formation of his com- pany, has served with the firm since its opening in April 1973. His first position was as director of corporate services. He started the company’s employee sugges- tion program in February 1987. Prepchuk was also a leader in the recent formation of the NASS chapter in Washington State and was also a leader in the develop- ment of the new B.C. Suggestion System Association, which will exchange ideas and information on employee suggestion and in- volvement programs. He is currently a member of the Lower Mainland United Way and the American Management Association. ; Headquartered in Chicago, NASS is a non-profit association of administrators of employee suggestion and involvement pro- grams. Its current membership of more than 900 organizations rep- resents about !3 million employees. : The association and its members and activities in all types of employee involve- ment programs, of which sugges- tion programs are a major part. According to the most recent Annual Statistical Report of NASS, member companies saved $2-billion in 1989 as a result of their employee suggestion pro- grams and made $194-million in cash award payments to employees whose suggestions were adopted in 1989.
