Mian fights deg over

A 34-year-old
Vancouver man got
into a tussle with West
Vancouver Police and a
police dog over a hand-
ful of change last week.

On: Friday, Dec. 15 at
10:40 p.m., police received a
feport of a theft from an auto
parked in the 2500-block of

Bellevuc.

ally located the man hiding in

He sprayed Sackett with
bear deterrent, but unfortu-
nately for him, the spray did-
n't deter the dog.

“He continued to fight
with the dog and with the
police. officers,” said media
liaison officer Sgt. Jim Almas.

One police officer injured his
hand in the struggle before
the man was arrested.

Police discovered the man
had broken into the car for
some loose change the car
owner had left in it.

“All the change was recov-
ered in the suspect’s pants,”
said Almas.
