It can be worn with skirts or with pants. A variety of fabries can be used to make this jacket such as light- to medium-weight wool or blends, tweed, vel- vet, flannel or bouclé. The sample shown was made from a lightweight wool crepe. Bound button- holes, contrasting trim and top stitching were added to customize the garment. Every clothing design is based on five basic pieces called master pieces. They can be custom drafted and fitted or purchased from any of the major pattern manu- facturers. Modifying the pattern Line up the bodice front with the skirt front at the waist and do the same with the back pieces. Measure fin- ished jacket length from the highest point of the shoulder down to the desired length. When enlarging your master pieces, the enlarge- ment will vary depending on master pteces the fabric thickness, For bulky or heavy-weave fabrics, additional centimetres or inches should be added to each = measurement. The enlargements indicated below are basic measure- ments. Use the interfacing of your choice, then face front and neck edges. Press the seams as you go along. Sew the sleeve scams and ease the sleeve cap to fit the armhole. Stitch collar pieces. Trim and press. Pin point E located on che collar to point A on the neck line of the jacket and stitch the col- lar into place. I recommend lining your jacket to give it a more pro- fessional look.Lastly, make the button holes and hem the jacket.
