Here is some information that wili help you plan your commute: ; °° ” Beginning June 6th until August 15th, the Second Narrows Bridge Rehabilitation Project will . be underway. This intensive, round-the-clock project will involve a double lane closure of bridge traffic, reducing traffic flow in each direction to 1wo lanes. As well, the speed timit on the bridge will be reduced from 70 to 50 km per hour, This has the potential to cause major traffic delays, BC Transit encourages commuters to plan ahead, travel during off-peak when possible and give yourself extra time. BC Transit is making every effort to maintain existing service levels and travel times during this project by adding extra shut service and buses to meet increased demand. New Express and Queue Jumper lanes have been created for buses and carpools with 3 or more people (Map A). As well, roadway and signal priority measures will assist commuters who choose to take transit or carpool. Park & Ride lots on the North Shore have been temporarily established within walk- ing distance of SeuBus and close to major bus routes (Maps A & B). BC Transit will also increase SeaBus sailings to every 12 minutes if required. By choosing transit, you will reduce ‘the time you spend waiting in congested tratfic.
