8 ~ Sunday, April 21, 1996 — North Shore News Dear Editor: Even Noel Wright admits it the funding inequities claimed by parents and the elected board do exist, and have existed for years. Now, where is David Schreck? He started this whole muddle. with his sin- gle-minded vendetta against our elected board. What has he had to say in Tesponse to Mr. Smith’s rec- ominendations that the fund- ing shortfall be restored before proceeding with any cuts? Nothing. After convinc- ing the government to sack our elected board, and then putting in an unelected cost- accountant in their place, he's silent once the accountant finds that the sacked bourd was in fact right the whole time. Instead we see pre-clec- 1 ACCES Vv tion ads with a smiling Mr. Schreck, and claims of the wonderful things the NDP has done for education. Say that to my French immersion — children at Brooksbank schvol. Say that to my son in Sutherland's music and drama programs. I'll say something: i won't vote for Mr. Schreck unless Bf, HLITY | Ag AWS SLOT MATA RDN NA itt RIDES WMA SS Ey ae REINA atte EET oe Abort Schreck support Lautens’ he lobbies to reinstate the trustees and established fair funding for District 44. Its distressing thal we can't have open discussion on issues dividing our country without being labelled racists, bigots and rednecks. Cugene Harder North Vancouver Kids Sense.
