Park Royal Shopping Cen-
tre is staging what it calls
the North Shore’s biggest
birthday party ever in cele-
bration of Canada’s 125th
birthday.

The event, billed as the North
Shore’s largest block party, will be
held on July 1 from 11:30 a.m. to
5 p.m.

Park Royal has also organized
two flag-raising ceremonies for its
north and south malls.

The celebration will also include
two giant birthday cakes, pony
tides, music, magic and children’s
workshops.

In addition, CFUN radio will be
on hand to give away prizes:
Canada Dry ginger ale and 1,500
hotdogs will also be given away.

The first flag-raising ceremony
will be held a1 the Eaton’s plaza
in the south mall at 12 p.m. and
will be led by Capiiano-Howe
Sound MP Mary Collins.

The second flag-raising  cere-
mony will be held at} p.m. at the
shopping centre’s north mall.

West Vancouver Mayor Mark
Sager will raise a toast to
neighbors at 3 p.m. in the south
mall and at 3:30 p.m. in the north
mall.

“With so much going on during
Canada Day we have worked
closely with others around the
North Shore to schedule activities
that our friends can catch at dif-
ferent times of the day,’’ said
Park Royal marketing director
Kelly Miilin.

“Iv’s a family celebration that
signifies the importance of getting
to know one another both in our
business and personal lives — an
event we can all enjoy,"’ said
Millin.
