A long- term care facility needs a person to build a sturdy stand and cupboard for a VCR and tapes. This is a simple one-time project and all materials will be provided. The fa- cility would like this cupboard built as soon as possible. SOCIABLE caring person is needed to operate the mobile gift cart in a seniors lodge. Volunteer will sell such items as stationery and toiletries from the cart, make change and chat with the seniors. If you enjoy seniors call about this position. Hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon, weekly. Training provided. EMPATHETIC patient people interested in learning about another culture are wanted to share an hour's conversation one- on-one with either a Chinese or Japanese student. These students want to learn more about Cana- dian culture and improve their English skills. Flexible hours one hour per week Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. FRIENDLY visitors are wanted to enjoy a relaxed visit, conversa- tion and tea with shut-in seniors. People are also needed to assist seniors with banking, shopping and bus transportation. Come and help fill this very vital need. Orien- tation provided. A car would be helpful. Flexible hours, two per week. KEEP fic by leading a group of active seniors on various walks on the North Shore. If you enjoy seniors and walking this position will benefit you. Duties include loaning equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers. crutches to patients on a temporary basis. Some clerical and record keeping work is also required.
