car —— the infamous Aston
Martin DBS of the 1964 film
“Goldfinger” — once
couldn't be taken by force or
subterfuge, but now it’s for
sale. ;

Frank Baker, the car's
current owner, has had the
marvelous machine that
once spewed .30 calibre
bullets from beneath its
retractable parking lights,
Sitting in front of his posh
West Vancouver restaurant
for 12 years.

“Tm selling the car
because I’m going to make
some great renovations on
the restaurant,” Baker said.
“I'm going to spend $1
million.”

An unnamed Los Vegas
hotel appears to be the front
runner to get the car, which
Baker said would not be sold

for less than $200,000.

“I hate to see it go to the
the United States, but it
looks like that’s where it’s
going to go,” Baker said
Wednesday as he stood and
watched an employee start
up the car's 325 BHP
aluminum-cast engine.

He won't name the hotel,
but he had an appointment
later in the day with a man
representing the hotel.

Baker said he has had five
other “serious” offers.
