two tuna seiners.

The vessels are Canadian
designed by naval architects,
Cleaver and Walkingshaw-
Limited of Vancouver.

Designed for commercial
deep-sea tuna fishing, each
1,300-ton vessel is large
enough to accommodate a
helicopter landing pad on
her bridge deck.

Ensemble is touring

Members of the Seymour
Youth Ensemble will be
heading for Kamloops next
‘month to do what they do
best entertain people,
usually senior citizens and
shut-ins, with their music.

The ensemble, which
began four or five years ago
as the Upper Lynn School
Ensemble, is comprised of
21 children from four North
Van elementary schools. It is
under the direction of Jane
Atkinson, a former teacher
who began the ensemble at
Upper Lynn School.

Ensemble performs regularly
on the North Shore — there

for this month alone. The
ensemble members, all in
Grades 3 to 7, will be raising

funds for the Kamloops tour

in the near future.
