Pat and Garry, who travelled to North Vancouver from their Toronto home upon learning of their daughter's disappearance, Dana was staying with an aunt in the area. She was due to end her holiday and leave for Banff on cither Tuesday or Wednesday. But, said the parents, Dana met a friend for coffee last Tuesday morning and phoned her aunt at around noon on ber cellular phone. “She was very excited thar she was going boating,” said Pat. The identity of her companions is unknown and Dana has been missing since. “We assume the people she was with had extra ciothing,” said Pat. In addition to her phone, which hasn’r worked since her disappearance, Dana had her car with her. It is a 1997 Subaru Legacy station wagon, Alberta licence plate FRC 921. North Vancouver RCMP spokesman Const. Tom Seaman said the Coast Guard, search and rescue as well as neighboring police forces have all been alerted to Dana’s disappearance. “My gut reaction is she has gone sailing as she has said and with the wind we've had they're stuck in some cove somewhere,” said Seaman.
