% Why does frost form on the underside of the roof sheathing of
your attic cavity in cold weather?

NSWER: Warm air escaping from your

home carries a high humidity content. When
this comes in contact with the cold underside of the
roof sheathing, the moisture condenses and turns to
frost. This is caused by poor roof cavity ventilation.
Ventilation should be calculated at 1 sq ft. per 300
sq ft. of home. Bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans
should be vented directly to the outside through the
roof or soffit.- Make certain your atlic access hole is
weatherstripped to stop leakage. It’s that casy!
