The daily rental charge usually includes third party legal liability coverage for at least the minimum limits in the jurisdiction you're visiting. These limits are low — only $35,000 in favourite destina- tions like California and Hawaii — and we have all heard how generous U.S, courts can be with injury awards. Take this situation. You're cruising in your rented car through downtawn Honolulu and suddenly Don Ho pulls in front of you in his Rolls. You’re so star- struck you pile into the back of him. The Rolls is bacly bashed and Don has a pain in the neck. Here, it’s pretty obvious that the third party limit on your Ha- waiian rental car isn’t going to go very far, Fortunately, you can count on your Autoplan policy for some extra help. When you rent or bor- row a vehicle anywhere in Canada Town Car makes light work of long drives From page 33 year is a traction-control system, called Traction-assist. It uses the ABS sensing devices at the driving wheels to sense loss of traction. If wheelspin is detected, braking pressure is applied rapidly to one or both of the rear wheels, greatly improving waction on slippery surfaces. This is definitely a wor- thwhile feature on a big, heavy, tear-wheel-drive car like the Town Car. Despite its new engine and modern styling, the Town Car is still very much a traditional North American luxury car. Handling is very soft and the Town Car leans considerably in the corners. The variable power assist steering system, which firms up as speed increases, requires almost no ef- fort to turn at any speed. Braking effort is minimal, and for such a big car, the Town Car is com- paratively easy to drive (except when you have to find a parking space). Quiet, comfortable, and power- ful, the Town Car makes light work of long highway drives. Its wide, spacious cabin with sofa-like seats and generous legroom is like a portable living room. Rear seat passengers in particular are treated to limousine-like spaciousness. The trunk is big enough to gobble up luggage for six passen- gers and automatic load-leveling rear air springs compensate for any extra weight in the trunk. One complaint though: why is there a “space-saving” spare tire in a lux- ury car with such a huge trunk? Standard equipment on the Town Car is extensive, including a driver's side air bag, automatic climate control, six-way -elec- trically-adjustable front seats, a high-level AM/FM stereo/cassette system, electronic instrumentation, power windows and door locks, automatic speed control, and tilt wheel. The Town Car is available in three trim levels, Executive, Signature, and Cartier Designer. The Executive starts at about $33,000, while the top-of-the-line Cartier Designer starts at $43,000, still a competitive price in the luxury car category, Sentinel raffle winners A NUMBER of people came up winners in a recent Sentinel Sec- ondary fundraising raffle. First prize of a seven-day luxury cruise of the winner’s choice, on Holland America Lines, went to F.S. Borowicz. The second prize, a 40° Panasonic projection TV, went to Cal Tompkins. And J. Moore was the lucky winner of a Panasonic camcorder and VCR. F-A-§-T COLLISION REPAIRS CALL THE PROFESSIONALS AT JAYLORMOTIVE 1959 LTD. FREE RENTAL COURTESY CARS — A.R.A. CERTIFIED B.C.A.A.
