By MICHAEL BECKER News Reporter Balmoral Junior Secondary School students Cheri Hamm, 12, and Jenny Ramsey, 12, recenily combined a shared concern for the environment with a linear-thinking knack for making things happen to organize their fellow Grade 8 stu- dents for an afternoon of neighborhocd garbage cleanup. AWARENESS ACTION Said Ramsey, ‘“We will continue doing things like this until peopie are aware that we have to clean up to have a nice environment.”’ The two turned words into ac- tion Oct. 13 after spending a weekend planning the logistics of coordinating, supplying and rewarding their cleanup brigades, which plucked trash from the streets of North Vancouver’s Braemar, Larson, Carisbrooke and Delbrook Park areas.
