By EVELYN JACOB News Reporter “The helplessness of the bird screamed out at me in black and white, but as I bent down to pick it up it died in my hands,’’ said King, who was visiting a friend in Tofino when an oil slick hit the west coast of Vancouver Island. After seeing the horrendous ef- fects of the spill, King, who teaches part time at Kwantlen and Douglas Colleges, made some sketches and produced four linocuts.
