Nye House was built in 1912 for Thomas Samuel Nye. The North Shore pioneer made his fortune after choosing, in 1902, district lot 2026 as his military grant for ser- vice in the Boer War. The Tudor Revival style house has been modified over the years. An unusual specimen of a Chinese Fir tree, also listed in the inven- tory, is gone, removed during the subdivision of the property by the present owner. Two smaller houses were added to the property after the present owner bought Nye House in 1988. According to the local realtor who is trying to sell the house for $328,000, the owner extensively renovated the house, spending approximately $150,000 on refur- bishment:.
