The fund raising campaign

for the restoration of St.
Pauls Indian Church is
progressing favourably.
More funds are still needed
and contributions from
individuals and businesses
and other organizations will
be gratefully received.

The North Vancouver
Chamber of Commerce has
undertaken the canvass of
businesses on the North
Shore for contributions. Ted
Taibot is spearheading this
part of the fund raising
campaign.

Plans. have been made for
an October start on the
restoration. Father Harry
O'Connor has arranged to
hold parish services at the
Squamish Band building
while the restoration project
is underway.

The parishioners have
undertaken to restore the
church pews. An urgent
need is for a building or
warehouse where the pews
can be stored and where the
parishioners can have access
to carry out the restoration
work.

was the scene of a pretty late
summer wedding uniting
Denise Janet Holomis and
Duncan Guy Scotland. The
ceremony was followed by a
reception at the Bayshore
Inn.

The bride received her
training at the UBC School

of Nursing and is now a
Registered Nurse. She is
continuing on her fourth

year at UBC and will receive
her degree of B.Sc. in
Nursing next spring.

The groom, also a UBC
graduate, received his B.Ed.
(Sec) this year. He is
presently employed as an
assistant imstructor at the
UBC Burnaby campus.
