For various reasons skiers often have equip- ment which is unsuitable, ill-fitted or poorly maintained. Many fac- tors such as stature, strength and skill-level determine the most suit- able equipment for each skier. In addition, the performance of all ski equipment will only be as good as its condition. Inappropr- iate or poorly conditioned equip- ~ment will also be more taxing physically and can hinder concen- tration, further detracting from a skiers performance. There is no subslitute for practice and experi- ence, so you must be prepared to commit yourself to skiing on a reg- ular basis to achieve your goals.
