Explore Hollyburn on Sunday FRIENDS OF Cypress Pro- vincial Park is sponsoring a series of Sunday ‘*Hollyburn Heritage Hikes”? in Cypress Provin- cial Park beginning next week. The purpose of the hikes is to provide the public with the oppor- tunity to become aware of the varied and special natural features and irails that the park has to of- hemlock trees. Hike coordinators advise par- ticipants to wear sturdy shoes or hiking beots, and to bring protec- tive clothing for changing moun- tain weather as well as a lunch that includes a fluid. Hike coordinators will be at the meeting location regardless of weather, but hikes may be cancelled in event of heavy rain. Coordinators are individual members of various hiking and natural history groups. Friday, Juric 5, 1992 — North Shore News - 19 HI a.m. on Sunday mornings. The June 7, 14 and 21 hikes will go from the Baden-Powell Trail to Hollyburn Ridge. This is a moderately easy hike that will take approximately three hours. Participants will meet at 11 a.m. at the Parks information kiosk in the downhill skiing park- ing fot at the end of the Cypress Bowl Road. The June 28 hike will cover Hollyburn Ridge trails to West and Blue Gentian Lake areas. This will take approximately three hours. Participants will meet at 11 a.m. at the cross-country parking lot, B.C. Park’s information kiosk. To reach Cypress Provincial Park, take Upper Levels Highway in West Vancouver to the Cypress Bow! Road and continue up. The downhill parking lot is at the end of the road, a short distance beyond the turn-off to the cross- country parking lot.
