Nearly all those speak English as well as anybody, but that is ignored. Angus Ree’s words took my fancy. “‘If the police in Quebec will answer ‘hello,’ then I will not object to bonjour,’’ he was quoted as saying. Vil tell you what “‘bonjour”’ re- aliy means. It means kiss a Quebec arse. gee Freedom of speech was the baaner he waved when defending the rights of those who cast doubts on the extent of the Jewish Holocaust. The issue is whether the so-cali- ed Holocaust took place. In other words, whether the Hitler regime deliberately set out to kill all the Jews it could get its hands on, and that 6,000,000 died as a result. More and more, I am coming to the conclusion that it didn’t... That is not to say that Jews did not suffer mightily simply because they were Jews, and that many died. As a PoW, I myself met many who were doomed, and be- fore that had been forced to wear the yellow Star of David. It is also not to say that the concentration camps were some kind of Club Med. They weren’t. They were hell-holes. But bad treatment is one thing, and mass murder by the million quite another. If Crazy Adolf was determined to wipe them all out, what held him back? It is possible that this country will wake up one day and discover how it is losing its right to free speech, but one dow5dts it... Ethiopia is a prime example. But no one seems to mind the doings of Col. Mengistu. On the contrary, we send him foreign aid. South Africa remains the villain. Because it’s ruled by whites. Brian Mulroney and Joe Clark are bad enough, God knows. But John Turner, Sheila Copps and Ed Broadbent are worse. If they had won the election, what little trade we have with South Africa would have been wiped out and diplomat- ic recognition would have ceased. The reason for their fervor is their supposed desire to help the blacks. But sanctions have had ex- actly the opposite effect. It is precisely the blacks who have been harmed. wae The nation’s immigration policies have been under steady attack since Collins began writing for the North Shore News. It has still not emphasized that IMPAIRED DRIVING Ardagh Hunter over 70 per cent of the legal im- migrants arriving in this country are from the Third World and that this has been going on fcr years; nor that if those 70,000 refugees are allowed to stay here it will result in a total of 700,000 once all the granddads, grandmums and other relatives arrive. It has still not pointed out that because of the crazy ‘family reunification’’ policies, the im- migration department has no con- tro! over nearly half of the admis- sions. In fact, over a five-year period, immigration from the U.K. has tun a poor fourth to that from Hong Kong, India and Vietnam. It is usually between four and five per cent of the totaJ. And thanks to Ottawa’s policies, European immigration as a whole has long been overtaken by the Asiatic sort. This year, too, we can expect that 80 per cent of immigrants will be non-white. Immigration Minister Barbara McDougall has announced a substantial increase in immigration for 1989.
