ARE YOU suffering from nagging
back or neck pain?

The North Shore YMCA's Back
Basics course introduces  tech-
niques to help prevent and
eliminate back pain. Theory will be
combined with exercise to rein-
force proper posture and work on
the suppleness and toning of back
musculature.

This four-week program is
taught by physiotherapist Tim
Hunt, who takes special interest in
the body alignment and joint
mechanics of the spinal region and
has experience treating various
back ailments.

The next sessions are scheduled
for Wednesday evenings from 7 to
9 p.m. beginning on Sept. 21.
Course dates are also scheduled for
October and November as the
course fills up quickly and regis-
tration is limited.

A word of warning for visitors
in winter: Take a warm coat.
Although the temperatures in the
daytime are fine for swimming and
sunbathing, as soon as the sun
goes down it gets downright chilly.
This is true desert country.

Since most of us who decide on
a winter break like to keep costs

them to get an idea of prices.
Made the mistake of telling them I
was writing about it, and they im-
mediately said that an official

Officially: The lowest monthly
condo rent listed for Phoenix is
$675 a month, winter season.

The fowest in Scottsdale is $490.

Naturally you can pay a lot
more but these (Mountain Park -
Phoenix and Capri Resort in Scot-
tsdale) sound well equipped.

A car is essential for a long stay
in Arizona. If you decide not to
drive down, the cheapest car rental
appears to be from Ugly Duckling
