HERITAGE
ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Council of the City of North Vancouver is seek-
ing five volunteers to serve on their Heritage Ad-
visory Committee. The function of the Committee
shall be to advise Council on those matters coming
within the scope of Part 3 of the Heritage Conser-
vation Act or those matters related to heritage con-
servation and the implementation of the City's
Heritage Program which are from time to time refer-
red to it by Council and to make recommendations
to Council respecting such matters.

To serve on the Heritage Advisory Committee in this
capacity the members must:

(i) a) be a qualified elector of the City; or
b) have been a resident of the City for not less
than six consecutive months immediately
preceding their appointment; or
c) have their place of work in the City;

(ii) not be a member of the Council of the City;

(iii) not be an employee of the City;

(iv) serve without remuneration.

Membership shall include representation from each
of the following disciplines:

(i) two members of the community at large:

(ii) one member of the Architectural institute of
B.C. with an expressed interest in Heritage

conservation;

{iii) one member of the North Shore Museum and
Archives Committee:

(iv) one member of the North Vancouver Com-
munity Arts Council;

The terms of office shall be for 2 years. To activate
the Committee initial membership shall be for terms
concluding on December 31, 1987 for two members
and December 31, 1988 for three members.
