Christmas look out, North Vancouver RCMP hit

This year they are armed
with tough new drinking and
driving legisiation.

The federal legislation,
passed itt Parliament
December 4, sets maximum
fines at $2,000 and imposes a
mandatory jail sentence for
second offenders,

It also introduces two new
offences, impaired driving
causing bodily harm and
impaired driving causing
death. These carry maximum
sentences of 10 and 14 years
respectively.
