Fashion brunch backs ballet

DANCERS OF the Royal
Winnipeg Ballet Company
will model an exclusive
Italian line of Spring fashions
at a fund-raising brunch and
fashion show sponsored by
the Vancouver Ballet Society
February 17, at The Van-
couver Mandarin’s Cristal
gourmet restaurant.

Proceeds from the $S0-a-
person event will go to the
Society’s scholarship endow-
ment fund administered by
The Vancouver Foundation.

The champagne brunch
begins at 11:30 a.m. and door
prizes include a weekend for

two at The Vancouver Man-
darin, a print by Toni Onley,
a two-night stay for four peo-
ple at a private Whistler con-
dominium, dinners for two at
Someplace Else and the
Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Restaurant, and tickets to the
Vancouver performances of
Dance Theatre of Harlem.
Each year, the society
awards scholarships and
bursaries to promising British
Columbia dance students to
further their training towards
a professional career. |
