Revion stops
testing on animals

REVLON INC. will cease animal
testing in the development of its
products.

In a recent announcement the
beauty company said it had com-
pleted a 14-year program to elimi-
nate animal testing in the research,
development and manufacturing of
its products.

The company wili rely on the
judgment of pharmacologic, tox-
icologic and medical experts,
non-animal alternative test
methods and the past safety histo-
ry of formulation and ingredients
to determine product safety.

Revion had already reduced its
animal testing requirements by
more than 90 per cent prior to its
cessation of animal testing activity.
