DAWN Livingston has
high hopes for
Christmas this year.

But unlike other 15-year-
olds who are asking Santa to
deliver designer clothes,
high-tech video games or
expensive sporting equip-
ment, Dawn’s request Is on
behalf of her mother,
Denise.

She wants her mother’s
TV repaired or replaced.

“Five months ago it blew.
Td like to fix it for her but
it’s too expensive.”

The Grade 10 Sutherland

student and her mother live
in a one-bedroom apartment
on Denise’s disability check.
Dawn said her mom can’t
work because she has lupus.

“She spends a for of time
in bed and her bed’s in the
living room. 1 usually have
all my friends over and we
come in and out.”

Dawn said she feels bad
—her mom won’t spend the
money for a new TV because
she’s saving so the two can
move into a two-bedroom
apartment.

“She's giving me so much
and Lecan’t give her any-
thing.”
