Jack Cullen — a legend in his own right after 50 years hosting CKNW’s Owl Prowl — will tell the stones and play his historical recorded interviews with this stellar line-up. Cullen has had a life-long affair with the greats of popular music. Not only has he collected their songs — compiling one of the world’s Jargest private record collections along the way — he’s shared it with countess fans on radio. Cullen’s CKNW Owl Prowl radio show has been a fixture of the Vancouver radio scene for 50 years. Over the years Cullen has conducted live broadcasts from the Grouse Mountain chairlift, from the 9 o'clock gun, from nightclubs, Chinese restaurants, taxi cabs, even Sunny Trails Nudist Club. Over the years Cullen has become a walking encyclopedia of music, radio and show busi- ness. When top artists visited the renowned Cave Supper Club —~ or other venues — Cullen was there to record interviews with them. Cullen’s knowledge and keen mind for detail often led te some prickly exchanges with his interview subjects. For example, the late Nat King Cole was chagrined to learn from Cullen that he'd recorded his first song not in 1939 as he was certain he had, but three years earlier.
