Regionalization of Services Continues on North Shore — Two more agencies join North Shore Health Board As the regionalization of health care services evolves on the North Shore, health care providers and community representatives continue to work together to establish priorities and plan for the future. The NSHB will ultimately be responsible for the region’s $160 million health budget, provided by the Ministry of Health, to 25 agencies and service providers on the North Shore. Discussions regard- ing amaigamation, transfer or con- tractual agreements with each of these agencies have been taking place since last Spring. _“Tam proud of the way the transition to an integrated health services system has evolved thus far,” said Tony Angel, Vice Chair of the NSHB and Chair of the Board’s Transition Task Group. “It is clear that people can see the benefits of regionalization and are prepared to work together to achieve them.” In Spring of this year, Lions Gate Hospital and North Shore Home Support Services were the first agencies to amalgamate with the NSHB. Two more agencies have recently followed suit. North Shore Intermediate Care Society Joins NSHB The North Shore Intermediate Care Society. (NSICS), which runs J Cedarview Lodge in Lynn Valley, Officially joined the North Shore Health Board last week, when NSICS S Board Chair, Bob Bradley, signed the ’ amalgamation agreement with NSHB Chair, Diana Hutchinson.
