present bylaw permits the sale of firéworks, -
_except firecrackers, but only to those aged 19...
years or older. It also prohibits the discharge of
firecrackers. .

The proposed amendments would: re
prevent the sale of fireworks to any person;
¢ provide a permitting system ‘designed | to

educate and ensure those applying for a!
‘permit can handle fireworks safely;
# provide rules for the safe display of

fireworks.

There is no intention to eliminate fireworks nor
to preclude well supervised neighbourhood :
fireworks displays, but rather to encourage safe |
